Places of Interest in Latrobe
Saint Vincent College is a four-year, coeducational, Catholic Benedictine liberal arts college in Latrobe. It was founded as the first Benedictine monastery in the United States by a German monk, Boniface Wimmer in 1846 and is now operated by the Benedictine monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey. Owing to its immense religious and historical significance to the citys identity, a basilica inside it was completely restored in 1996 to commemorate 15th anniversary of the founding of the college.
Lincoln Highway Experience

Benedictine monks have been milling flour and grains in the St. Vincent Archabbey Gristmill since 1854 AD. This historic gristmill was built by Saint Vincent founder Boniface Wimmer and was later appended to consist of a four-story frame structure that measured 45 feet by 4 feet. There is also a general store nearby from where you can buy bread that is made by using the Saint Vincent bread recipe.
