Places of Interest in Armenia The capital of Quindio Department of Columbia, Armenia is one of the main centers of the Colombian coffee growing axis. It is a medium sized city positioned between Cali, Bogota, and Medellin. Quimbaya Gold Museum Housed in a building designed by architect Rogelio Salmona, Quimbaya Gold Museum features archaeological collection including metalwork and ceramics. The collection of the museum displays the brilliance of idol-making and metalwork of the natives. Quimbaya Gold Museum also includes a children's library and a room for temporary exhibits.
Bolivar Square The main hub of activities in Armenia, Bolivar Square is an excellent place to enjoy a leisurely stroll or sit and enjoy a taste of a cup of black coffee. The backdrop of the square is beautified by the imposing hills, which are home to endless amounts of coffee. The centerpieces of Bolivar Square are the two beautiful sculptures- 'A Monument to Effort' by Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt and 'El Libertador' by Roberto Henao Buritica.
