The pine forests and surrounding peaks of Bozeman beckon the adventurous traveler. In warm weather, tourists can look forward to hiking, rafting and even wildlife safaris. In winter, you can carve the pristine snows with your skis or snowboard. Or, simply enjoy the picturesque frosted landscape from one of Main Street’s plentiful independent coffeehouses.
Can’t-Miss Destinations Within Driving Distance- Just under an hour and a half away, Yellowstone National Park is a wonderland of wildlife, hiking trails and, of course, geysers. Driving along the Grand Loop allows visitors to take in much of the park’s major highlights -- keep your camera ready, because you can usually spot bison and bears on this route.
- The trailhead to Gallatin’s Divide Peak is just 21 miles from town. The hike can be a bit snowy, even as late as July, but the Peak provides stunning panoramic views of the ridge that will make the journey worth the effort.
Major Highways In Bozeman- U.S. Highway 191 cuts right through town. Once you take it a few miles west, it becomes a gorgeous drive under the expansive blue sky. There, US-191 takes a sharp turn south to follow the Gallatin Canyon along the Gallatin River all the way to the border of Wyoming.
- Running east-west, Interstate 90 is transcontinental, running all the way from Seattle to Boston. The Montana portion connects more than a dozen counties and also connects to the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.
